Methodist Signature Log Cabin Quilt. Block pieced log cabin quilt with white and red pieces and blue border and backing. Machine pieced, hand quilted. White pieces are embroidered with names in red thread. The quilt measures 44" (w) x 68" (l).

Notes

Blocks were embroidered (and pieced?) in the 1950s by the women of the Methodist church. They would raffle the blocks off for money but the church terminated the raffles because they said it was a form of gambling. In 1992, the Chimney Sweep Questers received money to "complete" the quilt and display it upstairs in the depot museum.
