Brown silk crepe (georgette?) dress (c. 1928) has a drop waist loose fitting style. V neck. Long plain sleeves. The front of the dress as an inset that creates a V shape ending in a point at the waist. It is pintucked and has a button at center front on each pintuck. The inset is surrounded by velvet applique pieces in semi circular and tri-leafed figures. The drop waist is a tuck of material with another tuck about 3 inches below it. Each tuck has a brown velvet bow. The front of the skirt has three tiers of ruffles either side of center front where a pleated godet hangs. Back is simple with no decoration or add-ons besides the two dropwaisted tucks that circle the whole garment. The dress measures 21" (w) x 41" (l).Collection
