Description

A gray wool hat with a black band, black patent bill/front brim, and two eyelets on the front for a badge. The attached medal hat badge is from the Rio Grande Railroad. The badge, made by the Sachs-Lawlor of Denver, has two screw mounting posts and reads: "Main Line Rio Grande Thru The Rockies." The fittings on the back of the screw mounting are missing. The badge seems stable without them. The hat measures 5" (h) x 12" (diam). Three-button grey men's notch lapel jacket with two flap pockets at the waist. On the breast pocket is a grey patch that reads "TRAINMAN" in white embroidery. There is one white stripe on each arm with two sleeve buttons on the outer sleeve. The jacket measures 22" (w) x 28" (l). The vest is grey with six silver buttons and four besom pockets one on each side of the chest and one on each side of the waist. The back of the vest is grey silk.
