Book discusses in detail the origin and history of the Wesley Chapel, the original place of worship for Methodists in Broomfield, and tells about the efforts of various pastors and ladies' groups in order to promote their faith. In 1934, the Wesley Chapel was torn down, but its windows and materials were used to remodel the Broomfield Methodist Church. Book also contains excerpts from Alice Crooks Foster, an active member of the church. Budgets for church repairs, statistical reports, poetry, news articles, and copies of letters written by members of the church during the early 1900s are also included. Book also discusses the expansion of church properties as the community grew. Images and illustrations of church members, signs, floorplans, and church properties can be found scattered throughout the book. Extremely detailed accounts of fundraisers, auctions, bazaars, suppers, educational events, charity work, and youth activities are recorded within this text. The Methodist Church also worked closely with Broomfield FISH to provide food for the community. Extensive information about active church members, such as Reverend Chuck Cooper, Dorothy Ransom, and Viola Crooks, is provided. Book is very detail-oriented and includes important dates, events, and people associated with the United Methodist Church in Broomfield, discussed mostly in chronological order.Collection
