This is a miniature celluloid flag on a metal pole. The flag is for Panama Republic, and is made up of a red rectangle in the top right corner, a blue rectangle in the bottom left, a white background with a blue star in the top left and a white background with a red star in the bottom right. On the back of the flag is the text "Panama Republic/ Pop. 500,000 printed in blue ink. The flag measures 2.25" (h) x 1.25" (w).
These flags were made by Cruver Mfg. Co. of Chicago, U.S.A. The flags were used as a advertising premiums. People have claimed that the flags were premiums for cigarette and cigars, Teddy Bear Bread, and Ponciana Chewing Gum. The collection included 70 countries and 48 states.
