This is a miniature celluloid flag on a metal pole. The flag is for Bulgaria Kingdom, and is made up of a white stripe at the top, a green stripe in the middle, and a red stripe at the bottom. In the top left corner is a red square with a yellow lion wearing a crown. On the back of the flag is the text "Bulgaria Kingdom/ Pop. 500,000 printed in blue ink and the history of Bulgaria printed in black ink. The flag measures 2.25" (h) x 1.25" (w).
These flags were made by Cruver Mfg. Co. of Chicago, U.S.A. The flags were used as a advertising premiums. People have claimed that the flags were premiums for cigarette and cigars, Teddy Bear Bread, and Ponciana Chewing Gum. The collection included 70 countries and 48 states.
