Clothespin BagEntry/Object ID
2025.5.38Description
Item is a clothespin bag shaped like a baby onesie, likely from the 1970s. Clothespin bags were used for holding clothespins and had hooks so that they could be conveniently attached to a clothesline. The sleeves and pockets of the bag are surrounded by a dark blue border, and the rest of the fabric is light blue and patterned with roses. The back of the bag is much less faded than the front, and there is a metal hook sewn into the top. A few bobby pins and needles are tucked into the fabric, a thimble was found in the left pocket, and a roll of navy blue string is tucked into the main pouch, indicating that this clothespin bag was likely used as a sewing kit by its previous owner. A long piece of metal was sewn into the bag below the hook to keep it from folding in on itself while hanging.Collection
