Text on glass above the door in the front reads SCHOOL DIST NO 25 ERECTED 1885. Handwritten name in bottom-left corner is J. Miller. Photo taken at an angle to the building. Typed text on back reads "Picture taken approx. 1895/1896. Schoolhouse -- Professor A. J. Miller, Teacher. Methodist Church services held here. Located a mile south of 287 on Main Street." Handwritten note reads "'1 mile south on Pierce St.' Jeff. Co -NE Corner. Viola Crooks" Handwritten of the back is "Lorraine School." Marion Crooks is wearing a white pinafore and is in the front. The person to the right of her is James Crooks. The fourth person from the left, also sitting on the bench is Henry Crooks.
