The Lorraine School was built in 1885 to serve the students from northern Jefferson County and was named after a crossing stop built by the Denver and Interurban Electric Line. Reportedly, the Lorraine School/school building was moved in 1921 to 7898 119th Avenue, then in 1930, moved to 112th Avenue and Pierce Street. After the school closed, it was sold and moved to 11975 Vance Street. The building was torn down in 2012.
