Description

This is a heart-shaped pin cushion (a) with a red prize ribbon (b) pinned to the back. The cream-colored cushion has embroidery of a basket of flowers and a butterfly. Small pink flowers and green leaves, made out of fabric, are sewn around the edge. The heart is trimmed in lace. The cushion and prize ribbon measure 1" (h) x 8" (w) x 8" (l) together. The red ribbon has a cold crescent and gold text, which reads "136 Harvest Home Festival/Second Premium/Broomfield, Colorado, Sept. 20-21, 1935." The pin cushion most likely won second place in 1935 in the grange's annual Harvest Home Festival for handiwork.
