This is a United States Government Thrift Card or War Bond from 1918. They would exchanged for a War Savings Certificate Stamp and the person would get paid on January 1, 1923 for the money they've saved with interest over time. The front of the card has a complex designed border, the top has "The Torch of Liberty" and under it it says "United States Government Thrift Card" and under that is who issued it and blank spots for the owner to write their name and contact information. The front also has the directions and how much you would be paid at the end. Inside has 16 boxes for you to put money down in, each box holds 25 cents. The owner had used up 4 of the 16 spots filled out with green paper stamps. On the back has questions and answers to different information regarding this thrift card.Collection
