Description

This is a WWI uniform cap from "American Legion" in South Dakota. American Legion Cap from South Dakota of black coloring. Initials E.J.S. written inside of the cap. South Dakota embroidered in a gold thread at the bottom of the front of the hat with a symbol above it. The symbol is the shape of a circle with a reddish inside, blue border and gold edging. The reddish circle has a 5 pointed star that reads US. There is the appearance of leaves around the star. The blue edging reads American Legion in gold thread. The gold trimming is done in a zigzag pattern. Cap measures 5" (w) x 11" (l).
