Sanitary Refrigerator Co. Fon du Lac, WI
From label in icebox: "Housewives in 1924 covered the top of their iceboxes with wet paper to slow the ice's melting. They were advised not to place meat against the ice, as it would draw out the flavor. A chunck of charcoal placed on a shelf did the work of today's odor-absorbing box of baking soda."
