Item is a newsletter published for the Rocky Flats Division of the Dow Chemical Company on May 28, 1971. The newsletter is folded like a magazine but opens up as a newspaper. Black-and-white photos on the front cover introduce some of the articles that are featured in the newsletter.
The newsletter includes:
- the announcement of a new plutonium recovery facility at Rocky Flats by J.M. Leathers, the operations director for Dow Chemical.
- an article about a thermonuclear mirror machine created by Dow that will be featured at an international conference in Switzerland, along with details about the workings of the machine.
