The Wallace family revarnished all the tables every spring in their home in Phippsburg, CO. They heated their house with coal so a lot of varnish is imbedded in the finish. May have looked like dark walnut. Frank Sauter, husband of June Sauter, hand refinished it and it turned out to be golden okay. 10/27/2017 JAC
