Description

Item is a black-and-white photograph taken in the 12 Garden Center building that used to house the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library before the construction of the new building in 1995 and the new one after that in 2001. Towards the back of the photo, Julie and David Eisenhower pose to get their picture taken by Axel Neilson, who is holding the camera. Others can be seen at the tables in front of the bookshelves, reading or doing other activities. Julie's maiden name was Nixon, and her marriage to David united two of the most prominent political families of the time.
