Hand-written letter dated December 21, 1915 written by Mrs. Thompson to Viola Crooks. Written on stationary from the Solent Cliffs Hotel in Bournemouth, England. Mentions WWI, "It is to behoped the year 1916 will settle this was and stop the suffering of many. which [sic] is sad to see so many cripples and sightless men caused by the war and how being xmas time. They are bound to feel a difference from the years that are past tho many are cheerfull." And after asking about Viola's parents, "I hope your folks have done will this year with the grain. No doubt this war is making prices higher also for stock."
