This is a metal rail tong. It was once painted red. There is text on the side that reads, "VERONA". The tong measure 12.5" (h) x 34.5" (w) x 3" (d).
Very large and heavy rail tong, used to move track, needed two people to operate, one on each arm on the tongs. Multiple people and rail tongs used to move a single section of rail.
