Description

This is two black hoses with gladhand components. Each hose measures 29" (l) x 2.25" (dia). According to Tom Peyton: Those are air hoses that go between railroad cars and connect the air for the air brakes to each car down the line. The end without the threads is called a "gladhand". When the railroad cars are separated the "gladhand" automatically twists and disconnects. It's is air pressure that releases the brakes. So if a car loses brake air pressure the brakes will be applied. see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladhand_connector
