This is two black hoses with gladhand components. Each hose measures 29" (l) x 2.25" (dia).
According to Tom Peyton: Those are air hoses that go between railroad cars and connect the air for the air brakes to each car down the line. The end without the threads is called a "gladhand". When the railroad cars are separated the "gladhand"
