Description

This is a modern black and white photo of the Lakeview Cemetery. The cemetery was established in 1890, and built in 1891 on 2 acres of land purchased from Adolph J. Zang and August Nissen for $50. Only 44 grave stones have been identified. A monument made under direction of the Cemetery Committee and will include a list all of the early settlers interred in the Lakeview Cemetery between 1890 and 194. The last burial in the cemetery was 194 and the cemetery was deeded to the City of Broomfield in 1973 as a city park. A columbarium (for placing urns) has been added to the cemetery so ashes of deceased are still being placed in the cemetery. This is on loan to the Broomfield Train Depot Museum by Gerry Case.
