2016.21.1a is an identification banner used by the "Star Prowlers" square dance club of Broomfield, Colorado. It was hung at square dances to identify the club. This banner is constructed of purple satin fabric. The words "BROOMFIELD, COLORADO PROWLERS" are represented in yellow fabric block capital letters appliqued to the purple ground fabric. Also in applique in the same fabric is a silhouette of a man and woman dancing (proper right) and a five pointed star (proper left) bearing the word "STAR" in purple fabric using the same applique technique. The bottom edge of the banner has an applied gold fabric trim. The upper edge is sewn so to allow a long sleeve to accept the brass hanging rod, 2016.21.1b. The rod has "acorn" type finials and is attached to a gold colored metal hanging chain.Collection
