Scope and Content

A 30-page history (15 front and back) of the Broomfield train depot, titled "The Broomfield Depot Museum: Interpretive Materials" compiled by Mary Ann McNair, February 2013. The history includes many aspects of the depot's history. The history begins with early contextual history of both Broomfield and of Colorado's railroads from the 1860s onward. It also lists the value of the dollar, popular books, movies, radio shows, inventions, and contemporary events from 1900 through 1940 in the United States to give a sense of the time period in which the depot operated. The latter half of the history describes the history of Broomfield's live-in depot and what life was like living there, along with timelines and family histories of all the agents who lived and/or worked there with their families from 1910 to 1949. The history also includes a table of contents and full list of sources.
