Scope and Content

Booklet titled Burlington Lines Code of Safety Rules, for the Burlington Route. The rules applied to the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Company; The Colorado & Southern Railway Company; Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Company; and The Wichita Valley Railway Company. They took effect on September 1, 1931. The booklet was reprinted in 1941. The booklet belonged to James D. Hutchison, who worked for the Colorado and Southern Railway Company as a telegrapher and relief agent. He was trained by Clarence Vaughn, an agent for the Broomfield train depot. Hutchison's name is written in pencil on the inside cover, upper left corner. The booklet is 4" x 6.5", paper, light beige, with a leather binding.
