Scope and Content
A poster telling railroad employees to work safely around railroads at night, 17" x 22," 1970. The poster was issued by the Safety Section of the Association of American Railroads (AAR). The message reads,
"Night Work...It's how you do it that can make it safe. Do your part with care and caution."
A black and white drawing depicts a railroad conductor/worker holding a lantern in a train yard at night. Stopped train cars are to his left; a moving, oncoming train with a light can be seen approaching on the tracks to the right. A track switch stand is also to the conductor's right side.
A train with the AAR logo is at the bottom of the poster.
The AAR poster number is 6-70, Poster No. 542
Custodial History: Originally used and posted in the Broomfield depot's station agent office and/or baggage area while the depot was still in use by Colorado and Southern Railway Company. All posters in the depot were later removed and put in the Broomfield Historical Society's collections after the depot was relocated from 1975 to 1976.
