Description
One wooden mantle clock made of a dark brown wood veneer in a gable shaped with decorative finial at the top at each side piece. Door fits into frame, opens to right, hinged at top and bottom of right hand side. There is a lock in the center of left door frame the door is divided in two by piece of wood. The bottom section of the door contains translucent glass, painted reddish brown with a lion's head in profile, surrounded by garland, all in painted gold-colored paint. The top section of the door has clear glass with a clock face behind it, of white-painted metal, probably tin. The hours are marked in black roman numerals. The clock workings are visible through a hole in the center, the hole is rimmed with a gold colored metal ring with hours marked on it in roman numerals is mounted in center of this "hole". The black metal clock hands are mounted in the center of this ring. The stems for winding and setting are visible through brass rimmed holes in face. The clock is made by the Ansonia Brass and Copper Company.
