"Billings Bride Post Office. Riverside Drive near Billings Bridge which crosses Rideau river at Bank Street was originally built as a Methodist Church about 1859. Later used as a country school and finally as a post office (Billings Bridge). The land was donated to the Methodist church by Miss Sarah Billing- great aunt of C.A. Billings who lives in the old family home at the top of the hill over looking the Rideau river. The congregation now worships in the new South Minster United Church Bank and Driveway near Rideau Canal. The fireplace outside the old post office was used in another building (now torn down) nearby for a school(school crossed out) ?" Signed "Alta Wilkinson July 30 1957 Ottawa"
