Description
One oil painting of a head and shoulder portrait of Captain Bate with a dark background. Captain Bate is wearing a red uniform with gold collar, braid and epaulets, he has a brown ribbon across his chest. Uniform worn while in the capacity of Attache to Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Prime Minister of Canada during 60th year jubilee of Queen Victoria of England A.D. 1897. The painting is displayed in a large gold frame with a raised design in each corner and center of each of the sides, outer border of frame has narrow fluted design; there is a small brass plaque on bottom end of frame.
