Entry/Object ID
P3292
Description
One sepia colored albumen photograph on beige mat. View of an iron railway bridge with a locomotive in the foreground. There are two men - one in the cab, leaning out the window, and one between the cab and coal bin. The piers of the bridge are made out of large stone blocks. The shoreline across the river and a second bridge can be seen in the distance. This looks like the railway bridge across the Ottawa River that is roughly between the Lebreton Flats and Parkdale Ave. Printed on back, in gold: "TOPLEY / Photographer by Appointment to / His Excellency / The Marquis of Lorne and Her Royal Highness /The Princess Louise / 104 Sparks St. / OTTAWA / J. Walker Del.Sc. / Montreal". The photograph is mounted on a beige colored mat.
