One ambrotype of baby girl in crib, the image taken on clear glass, and backed with a piece of black paper, it is mounted in copper-colored tin frame and inserted into one side of an embossed black case. Other lid has panel of red patterned velvet. Case has small brass clasp on one side. On small card found in case behind photograph: "MARGARET ABBEY HURD DIED AUGUST 1866".
