Description

One sepia colored composite photograph depicting 40 sepia colored portraits of the mayor, members of the council and civic officials of the City of Ottawa in 1896, the mayor and officials are in the center of the picture. The mayor's portrait is pictured in a frame that is hanging from a long chain. A picture of old city hall is directly below the mayor. The officials are made to look like they have been laid down in a pattern - some overlapping, others with curled edges. The members of the council are around the sides and bottom, and are grouped in boxes by riding. The ridings are Victoria, Dalhousie, Wellington, Center, St. George's, Byward, Ottawa, and Rideau. Photograph is mounted on thick beige card.
