Description
One black and white photograph of a house with large porch, four chimneys (two on either end), and a glass enclosed cupola centered on the roof. There is a woman with a small dog on the sidewalk across the street, there is a stone wall around the house with a large gate. There are telegraph or telephone poles in front of the house. The photograph is displayed in a black frame with a gold inset on edging and a beige mat.
"Residence of John Bower Lewis, Q. C. At the time of his death in 1874 and of his family / thereafter for a number of years__. The residence being on the north side of and facing // Maria St. (later Laurier Ave. West) and on the west side of Concession St. (later Bronson Ave.) // Ottawa, Ontario. View taken in April 1900 at which time the streets retained the old names. "
