One large metal platform scale on four metal wheels. Two removable wooden panels lay across the platform. The platform is inscribed "PATD, JAN 15 1856 / & AUG 20 1867" along the top and "HOWE SCALE CO. / RUTLAND VT. NO 1" along the bottom. The tall blue scale arm with a sliding metal weight scale attached to the platform is plastered with two manufacturer and twelve inspection stickers. The two manufacturer stickers read: "SUPPLIED BY / THE CANADIAN / FAIRBANKS-MORSE / COMPANY LIMITED." The legible inspection stickers are dated 1945, 1949, 1956, 1961,1965, 1966, 1975, and 1998.Made/Created
