One desk set with two crystal inkwells with brass trimming and plaque on the grey and brown marble base, which has two long indentations (for pens and pencils) with rounded ends. The marble appears to contain fossils, there is a rectangular brass handle with pointed protrusions positioned over a rectangular brass plaque. There are two brass lined sunken squares on either side of the base to hold the heavy glass crystal inkwells. The square bodied glass crystal inkwells are topped with square brass lids. There are four round ebony feet located in the corners under the base.

The inscription is engraved on a rectangualr brass plaque attached to the top of the marble base in the center.
