Photo of William S. Barrett of Camden, Maine. Originally printed in the Boston Globe. He lived at the Barrett farm on the Lake "Turnpike". He was known as "Wild Bill Barrett" because of his hermit ways and appearance. In this picture; he is called "Camden Mountaineer". He raised grapes and bees on his farm. He was the son of Daniel Barrett who built the toll road around the lake known as the TurnnpikeCollection
