Description

A pocket-sized booklet produced for the 1962 Doodlebug Golf Tournament, containing the roster for the tournament. Features: This pocket-sized booklet has a two-staple saddle stitch binding and card cover. The cover has a deep blue background, with silver-grey ink. On the front cover is the following text: "ROSTER [block text]; Tenth Anniversary [script]; DOODLEBUG GOLF TOURNAMENT [serif block]; BANFF SPRINGS HOTEL GOLF COURSE; SEPT. 7, 8, 9 [block]". Centered 3/4 down the cover is an illustration of a caricature man mid-swing of a golf club. Below this along the bottom of the front cover is the text "COMPLIMENTS OF; WEST CANADIAN MICROFILM LTD.; 810 -5 AVENUE S.W.; CALGARY, ALBERTA". Centered on the back cover is the text "THIS ROSTER DESIGN AND PRINTING BY WEST CANADIAN GRAPHIC INDUSTRIES; A DIVISION OF WEST CANADIAN MICROFILM LTD.". The title page lists the year date and tournament committee, with a Hall of Fame list on the reverse of the page. The body of the booklet contains the tournament roster, with six profiles per page. Each profile consists of a greyscale photograph of the individual, their name, the associated company name, and their wife's name where applicable. On the last page is also a list of non-players.

Cleanliness

Light grime/wear on the cover. Edges of pages are lightly yellowed from handling.

Surface

Light to heavy scratches throughout the front and back covers. Range from light over-all scratches from contact with other items, to deeper cuts and gouges on the back cover. The gouge is to the right-of-centre on the back cover and has multiple points of gouging along a line of deep scratches.

Materials

Moderate to deep horizontal creasing along the spine, with a dogeared fold in the bottom-outer corner of the front cover and the top-outer corner of the back cover. All corners are moderate to heavily bumped, with moderate to heavy fraying on corners and edges.
