Description

Curved-rectangular belt buckle, branded to Alberta Gold Well Servicing and 1985 Safety Award. Features: An overlapped curved-rectangular and oval-shaped, cast brass belt buckle, finished in antique-bronze and bearing the imagery of oil equipment and text. The buckle is lightly curved. Front Design: A curved-rectangular belt buckle with an internal/overlapping oval that breaks the rectangular silhouette. The oval element is bordered by a 2.5mm ring that merges into the rectangular outline. The interior section of the oval is recessed with a soft texture. Along the top of the section, curved to the shape of the oval is the text "ALBERTA GOLD", and along the bottom curve is "WELL SERVICING". In the centre in large text are the initials "AG" to the left and the oil equipment imagery to the right. Below this (above the bottom text) is "SAFETY AWARD; 1985". Back Elements: The back is smooth with a raised, stationary hinge attached at two points, and a curved hook. Between these is a debossed ring with the following text inside "ANACORTES BRASS WORKS LTD. (curved around other text); 1986; HAND MADE; SOLID BRASS; ANACORTES, WASH; U.S.A.; 98221." Old Description (Kelsey Dalrymple, 3 June 2020): Alberta Gold Well Servicing. Safety Award 1985. Brass belt buckle with service rig. (Donated by Charles Runge. Found in collection.).
