Description

An oval belt buckle branded to Blackburn Water Hauling. Features: An oval, cast metal (likely brass) belt buckle, finished in an antique-bronze colour. It is not curved. Front Design: A 3mm block border around the edge of the buckle with a scattered dash textured inside surface. Central to the design is a raised water hauling truck design, surrounded at the top and bottom by the block text "BLACKBURN" (top) and "WATER HAULING" (bottom). Back Elements: The back has a striated texture, with a curved hook. The hook has a bulbous end and the base looks like four small leaves. It has an irregular hexagon hinge attached at one point. There is a raised rectangular makers mark that contains cursive text "AT designs" and regular text "MADE IN CANADA". Old Description (Kelsey Dalrymple, 6/3/2020): Blackburn Water Hauling. Brass oval belt buckle with water truck on face (unknown donor).

Cleanliness

On the front there is some white grime between the thin lines on the tank part of the water hauling truck design. On the back there is some dark grim on the makers mark over the word "IN". On the hinge, there is clear adhesive residue through the hole.

Surface

Light to heavy scratching on the raised elements of the buckle, most notably a scratch on the head of the hook. General light to medium wear on the front and back of the buckle, most notably brightening the back around the makers mark.

Mechanism

The hinge moves freely.
