A large, landscape, black and white photographic print (glossy), of a wooden calbel rig, with FOUR men standing around the base.
The cable rig is positioned to the left of the image, with the attached structure with a tall chimney in the middle, and a crops of trees to the right. The lower quarter is a grass field, and the upper 3 quarters cloudless sky. To the left, below the rig are FOUR men, dressed in dark suits (on slightly back to the left, two slightly forwards directly below the rig, and a fourth a little to the right). Off to the right side of the rig, halfway up, are two horizontal poles.
In the bottom-right is the handwritten (onto the negative) text reading "McDermid; 916", with the latter number believed to be the date (1916), but this is unconfirmed, though the dress of the figures in the photograph would support such a date. On the reverse in red ballpoint in written "167".
Photographer: Based on the inscription, the photographer is believed to be Albert Edward McDermid / McDermid Photo Laboratories, who worked in British Columbia and Alberta during the early-1900s. This would also align with the believed associated donation record which would place the scene in Flathead/Fernie, British Columbia.Collection
