A large commemorative coin from Texaco Canada Inc., and stored inside a red-velvet branded case. Description A large, silver-coloured commemorative coin with a matching clam-shell case. The coin is branded to Texaco Canada Inc., also referring to Frontenac Oil Refineries Limited 1925, The Texas Company of Canada Limited 1928, and McColl and Anderson 1873. Case This is a clam-shell 'ring box' style case, with a red velvet/flocked outer fabric, a black velvet/flocked interior of the bottom, and white satin lining on the interior of the top. In the centre of the top's interior is printed the Texaco round start logo in black. The interior of the base is formed to hold the coin, with a cream satin ribbon beneath the coin for easy removal. The hinge is a silver-coloured metal, with seven joints. Old Description (Kelsey Dalrymple, 2/10/2020): Commemorative Texaco coin in red felt box. One side is engraved with a map of Canada, with the Texaco logo in the centre. It reads "TEXACO CANADA INC / 1873 SERVICE 1989" The verso is engraved with an Indigenous man wearing a headdress, beside the Texaco logo. The border is engraved with the different names Texaco operated under in Canada before becoming Texaco.Collection
