Description

Elongated oval belt buckle, branded to Beaver Drilling. Features: An elongated oval, cast metal (likely brass) belt buckle, finished in antique-bronze colour. The buckle is very lightly curved. Front Design: A 2-2.5mm border around the edge of the buckle, with a large, raised cube textured on the interior surface. In the centre of the buckle design is the Beaver Drilling text and initial logos (a large stylised "b" made from a single line in a triangular spiral, below which is the text "Beaver" in a stylised font), behind which is a fine-line illustration of a drilling rig with "DRILLING" in small block text at the base. To either side are 3-dimensional drill bits facing inward. Back Elements: The back has a small spotted texture. The hook is broad and embellished with four 'leaf' shapes at the base, and the hinge is a clover shape with a plant-like embellished base. Between these elements is a raised rectangle with the debossed text "INLAND ADVERTISING & PROMOTIONS LTD.; EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA". Damage: The buckle shows signs of having partially snapped in the past, and being repaired. The break line can be seen running from the top-left downward. The area is also warped from the damage. The hook has been snapped off and is missing. Old Description (Kelsey Dalrymple, 3 June 2020): Beaver Drilling. Oval brass belt buckle. Drill bit on either side, rig in center.
