Collectors coin, Dave Hunter #14/Edmonton Oilers. Part of Hockey Dollars collection. In original packaging.
Features: Collectable coin, bearing the image of Dave Hunter (heads-side) and branding for the Edmonton Oilers (tails-side). The coin was limited tender for $1.00 until May 1, 1964.
Heads-side: Frontal molding of Dave Hunter's face, below which is the text "DAVE HUNTER" following the curve of the coin. Dotted border around outside of the surface.
Tails-side: Round Edmonton Oilers' logo, with text "1983 EDMONTON OILERS DOLLAR" below, following the curve of the coin. Around the outside is a dotted border, broken by text at the bottom reading: "VALUE $1EXPIRES MAY 1, 1984 [UNIDENTIFIED]". Ridged edge.
Packaging: The coin is packaged on a narrow sheet of card, with print on both sides in black/grey and orange. The card has a grey base colour.
Front: On the front side the design elements are as follows: "An Offical Edmonton Oilers Product" (top-left, black); an orange-filled, black line illustration of a coin with the white text inside "SUGGESTED $1.50 RETAIL PRICE" (top-right, covered in white sticker); "HOCKEY DOLLARS" (directly below previous elements, black); horizontal line of tear-along indents; Edmonton Oilers logo (left below tear line, orange); "12 DAVE HUNTER" (right of Oilers logo, black); greyscale images of the coin's two sides (upper-middle); "1983" (mid-right, black); "EDMONTON OILERS DOLLARS" (lower-middle, orange with black drop shadow); horizontal line of tear-along indents; square containing cut-out with the coin inside. The square section has a black border; orange text "HOCKEY DOLLARS" on top and sides, and "COLLECT THEM ALL" on the bottom, with orange dots in corners; fine black border; ultra-fine orange border; black fill square; white stylised hockey stick and puck design in ring, in each corner; round cut-out in centre. The coin is suspended in the middle of the cut-out with a strip of adhesive tape on the backside. It is unclear if this is how the coin was originally attached, or an adaptation made when mounted on the display sheet the coin and package were donated with.
Reverse: design elements are as follows: "An Offical Edmonton Oilers Product" (top-left, black); an orange-filled, black line illustration of a coin with the white text inside "SUGGESTED $1.50 RETAIL PRICE" (top-right); "HOCKEY DOLLARS" (directly below previous elements, black); horizontal line of tear-along indents; a rotated table containing career stats for Dave Hunter; horizontal line of tear-along indents; square containing cut-out with the coin inside (same as front).
This object was donated, mounted on card for display, with one copy on each side.Collection

Some light dents on the 'heads' face, to the left of the image of Dave Hunter.
Packaging card is lightly creased from handling, particularly around the centre-left.Structure
Puncture holes in top and bottom from being staples to the display sheet.Notes
