A large, perfect-bound, newsprint magazine in a format published by The Albertan newspaper. The issue is from 1963, and displays the title at the top reading, "This is ALBERTA in 1963". The title is placed in a bright yellow rectangle with a black and white shape of Alberta underneath the 'ALBERTA'. Underneath is a large, square image of land with trees, white and red buildings, and a blue sky with mountains in the distance. The bottom of the cover displays a red rectangle with a yellow starburst on the left with "$1" in red, and yellow serif text on the right, reading, "THE ALBERTAN".
The back cover displays a bright blue base with a large hand-drawn illustration of Alberta featuring cities, drawings of landscapes, animals, and people. Above reads, "Sunny" in yellow cursive font, "ALBERTA" in white and red bold text, and "TODAY" in small, thin white text. On the top right is a large yellow illustration of the sun. Two trains travel off the map on the bottom left and right. Six arrows surrounding the bottom of the map point outwards and display black text describing how many miles it takes to travel to different major cities and the USA.
Inside features numerous highlights and stories on the state of Alberta in 1963.Collection
