Belt Buckle, Accessory, Metal, Silver, Banister, Edmonton Trading Co. Ltd., Edmonton, Alberta, CanadaDescription
Rectangular belt buckle, branded to Banister.
Features: A rectangular, cast metal (likely brass) belt buckle with rounded corners. Finished in antique-bronze. The buckle is lightly curved.
Front Design: A 3mm border around the edge and a recessed interior surface with a dappled texture. In the centre, spanning from top to bottom, is a raised rhombus/diamond with a 6mm border. Across the center is a band with the text "BANISTER" across it. A triangle above and below the band with the text. The brass colour is coming through around the raised elements and on the right and left sides. This appears to be a manufacturing fault rather than from wear.
Back Elements: The back is brass-coloured and has a vaguely textured back. The hook is curved with a tapered tip. The hinge is an elongated rectangular with a divet in the middle on the outer side. Between the hook and hinge is a smooth band with the raised text "MACKENZIE TRADING CO. LTD.; Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA".
Old Description (Kelsey Dalrymple, 3 June 2020): Banister. Rectangular pewter belt buckle. Diamond in center. (Donated by Charles Runge).Collection
