Description

A plastic comb-bound recipe book, produced by the Oklahoma City Desk and Derrick Club. This recipe book is compiled from submissions by members of the Desk and Derrick Club throughout America and Canada, and edited by the Desk and Derrick Club Chairman Beatrice Woods Davidson. There is a preface by Claude V. Barrow (Oil Editor of The Daily Oklahoman and Times) and a forward by Clariece Anderson Green (President of the Desk and Derrick Club of Oklahoma City). The front and back covers are on yellow cardstock, with black print. The front cover has an illustration of an oil derrick and an office desk in the top-left corner; to the right of which is the serif text "DESK AND DERRICK"; 4/5th down the cover is the stylised text "Favorite Recipes"; and along the bottom reads "Compiled by Desk and Derrick Club of Oklahoma City". The outer back cover is blank. On the inside front cover are tables of substitutions, oven temperatures, and measurements. The inside back cover has tables of weights and measures, can sizes, and abbreviations. Binding: plastic comb binding / GBC binding. Cleanliness

Light grime from handling. Blue-coloured transfer on the back cover from contact with another item(s). Two grime spots in the outer-bottom corner of the front cover.

Surface

There is a section of the front cover surface, top-middle, has been torn and removed, exposing the white card stock underneath the yellow colouring.

Materials

Light to moderate creasing on the cover. Notably: dogear fold in the outer-bottom corner of the front cover, along the spine of the back cover, in the outer-bottom corner of the back cover. Small to medium tears on the top and bottom edges of the back cover. Light fraying along creases and tears. General wear around the edges of the covers.

Structure

The front cover has become separated from the rest of the book, tearing along the binding.
