Description

Altered rectangular belt buckle, branded to Beretta Ent. Ltd. (Lloydminster, Alberta). Features: A rectangular, cast metal (likely brass) belt buckle with rounded corners. The buckle appears to have been altered, with a blue holographic background overlaid over the front surface, and a "Beretta" branded design, adhered onto that. Unknown if the surface beneath is blank or not. Front Design: Laminated over the front surface of the buckle is a sheet of blue holographic paper/plastic, with a circular design. The edges have been trimmed to match the shape of the buckle. Placed on top of the holographic sheet is a printed design branded to "Beretta Ent. Ltd." The design is an elongated, horizontal rectangle, with "Beretta" in large bubble-styled text breaking the silhouette of the rectangle at the top-left, and "ENT. LTD." in smaller text tot he right. The rectangle section is white, with a black forest silhouette to the right side and along the base. In the black section is written "OILFIELD; CONSTRUCTION; Lloydminster, Atla" to the right, and "875-6522" at the bottom left. In the left portion of the rectangle is a yellow and black piece of machinery laying pipe. The pipe extends off into the background where it meets with a simple line suggestion of rolling hills. This whole design has been carefully cut out and overlaid over the holographic background, then a coating of some sort of clear sealant has been applied. Back Elements: The back has a smooth texture and appears to have been painted in gold over a brass base. To the right is a curved hook, and the broken stumps of what was a stationary hinge to the left. No maker's mark. Old Description: (Kelsey Dalrymple, 3 June 2020) Beretta Ent. Ltd. Oilfield Construction. Rectangular brass buckle with blue enamel face. Sticker with logo attached to front (Donated by Gordon McQuaig).

Cleanliness

The back has a large area of clear, tacky adhesive residue around the edges. Blue residue on the bottom stump of the broken hinge.

Surface

The entire buckle has been coated un-evenly in an unidentified clear sealant, with is particularly thick on the left and right ends (front and back). The edges of the holographic sheet are exposed on the top and bottom edges. The branded print on top of the holographic sheet is sealed at the top, but at the bottom has become lightly warped and a gap has appeared below the text "Lloydminster". Some adhesive bleed can be seen through the white sections of the print.

Structure

The stationary hinge has become snapped off and is missing, leaving two stumps (one top, one bottom) with rough, sharp edges.

Notes

The alterations are roughly done, and unlikely to have been done professionally.
