Description

Rectangular metal belt buckle with leather, branded to B&R Transport. Features: A rectangular cast metal belt buckle finished in antique bronze, with a brown leather insert. The buckle is lightly curved. Front Design: On the metal background there is a raised smooth metal border 2 mm wide, and then a 1 mm gap and then a leather insert mounted on the metal background. At the top of the leather there is a stamped (indented and coloured dark brown) triangle that contains the serif font that reads "PH. 826-3889". At the bottom there is stamped an upside down triangle that contains serif text that reads "TRANSPORT (Bonnyville) LTD.". Between the two triangles is stamped block text that reads "B & R". Back Elements: The back is a rice grain-like texture. In the center of the back surface there is a slightly raised area shaped sort of like a horizontal wine glass. There is a curved and rounded hook on the "cup" part. To the right of the "base" of the design is a hinge mechanism. The hinge is an irregular and elongated trapezoid attached at two points. In the very center of the back surface, on the "stem" of the wine glass type shape is a makers mark that reads "Century" in cursive, and "CANADA" in block text. Old Description (Kelsey Steil, 4/7/2021): "B & R Transport (Bonnyville) Ltd. Brass belt buckle with leather face."

There is some light wear on the raised metal border of the front surface. There also is some shallow scratches on the leather, most notably, an upside down "A" shape in the upper left corner where the leather appears lighter and the finish has been removed. There also is two long horizontal scratches with a short vertical scratch bisecting them in the bottom left. Back Elements: There is some wear removing the finish on the top of the hook. There is some matte clear or yellow adhesive residue on the back of the buckle. Most notably, there is a vertical stripe to the left of the hinge, a rectangle at the bottom near the right, and a triangle at the top near the right.

Materials

There is some round indentation in the leather on the front of the buckle, most notably, to dots in the middle left, and three dots in the middle of the right edge.

Mechanism

Hinge moves freely.
