A large ceramic beer tankard hand-painted by McKenzie Originals. The background of the tankard is glazed white with black painted illustrations on either side. On one side of the tankard is a painted image of an oil rig site with multiple buildings, an oil derrick, machinery, a cloudy sky, all resting on a rectangular patch of earth. The other side of the tankard features a painted image of a scroll that has been decorated to look old and cracked. On the scroll is black stylized text reading, "Through ice and the sleet And the cold blowing snow, The work must go on..... For the Black Gold below!" The bottom of the tankard is white with a large black ring close to the border of the base. Inside the ring is black, handwritten, painted text reading from top to bottom, ".McKenzie Originals. / "Black Gold" / Limited Edition / 500 / No. 499/500 / 1984 / ~Hand Painted~". A square, beige cardstock piece of paper rests inside the tankard. The top left of the paper features a greyscale image of a woman with short hair, wearing a dark coloured mockneck shirt. The top left of the paper displays black text reading, "MCKENZIE ORIGINALS "BLACK GOLD". The middle of the paper consists of two paragraphs of black text. The bottom has one signature and text that has been handwritten in black ink, "'84' - 499/500".Collection
