Front Design: On the metal background there is a raised smooth metal border 2.5 mm wide, and then a 1 mm gap and then a leather insert mounted on the metal background. At the top of the leather there is a stamped (indented and coloured dark brown) triangle that contains the serif font that reads "PH. 826-3889". At the bottom there is stamped an upside down triangle that contains serif text that reads "TRANSPORT (Bonnyville) LTD.". Between the two triangles is stamped block text that reads "B & R".
Back Elements: The back is a rice grain-like texture. There is a curved and rounded hook, and there are two metal ramps (that possibly once held a hinge mechanism) that have been broken off. They are located at the very top and bottom of the left side of the buckle.

There is some mild wear on the raised metal border on the front face of the buckle.
Back Elements: There is a large patch of yellow adhesive residue covering most of the left side of the back surface of the buckle.
There also is some milky white accretion on the back surface, most notably there is a large vertical stripe on the left side of the back surface, near the base of the hook. There are two smaller patches of this accretion in the top and bottom left corners of the back surface near the broken off hinge.Mechanism
