Description

A black and white postcard photograph of the Atlantic #3 Blowout, featuring a large black smoke cloud with a bright white base taking up the majority of the upper-right of the image; with the lower half a dark area of field. Along the base is the printed text "'WILD ATLANTIC' OIL WELL - DEVON, ALBERTA". On the reverse is a postcard template, with the handwritten text "Return to:" (pencil) and "Malin; Buck Creek Alta" (black ballpoint). The photo is not dated, but the fire at Atlantic #3 began 6 September and burned for 60-hours so the original photo would have been taken within that timeframe.
