Description

Pressed metal wall thermometer, branded to Esso/Imperial Oil and Walter L. Hamula. Featured: A wall-mounted metal thermometer, molded into a 3D shape. Finished in white, likely with a shell of enamel. The thermometer is a narrow vertical rectangle, with embellishments at the top and bottom where a nail/screw can be applied to mount. The body is sectioned off into three areas, with raised area partitioning the areas is red. In the top area is the black text "WALTER L. HAMULA; Your Imperial Oil Agent; PHONE: BUS. 88 RES. 62; THORSBY, ALBERTA". In the long middle section is the thermometer, and the bottom section is the Esso logo in black.

Cleanliness

The surface of the metal body has assorted stains and residue. Of note are a patch of rust-coloured staining around the base of the thermometer in the middle section; accumulated residue/articulated around the edges of the sunken portions; and what appears to be adhesive residue around the base.

Surface

Some damage to the finish around the base including a deep scratch in the bottom-right corner; and chips in the finish on the decorative point (one on the front and numerous on the back).
